4 Important Things You Must Do Everyday

August 15, 2016 by EnnisP Leave a Comment

Relationally we're all different and the same.

Thinking
Is Never A Waste

With fast paced schedules and relentless demands, life can be hectic. Battle, chaos, tumult all round. Overload! Confusing!

It’s easy to get lost in the melee and feel the ground slipping at the end of each day. But all is not lost. In fact, very little. Your sense of frustration, your lack of accomplishment may be more a matter of perspective than reality.

The way to feeling a sense of balance, if not accomplishment, requires nothing more than a map. Include the following four items in your daily life, in no particular order, and your sense of accomplishment will improve.

Be Relational

When it comes to relationship nature, we are all different, but when it comes to relationship needs, we are all the same.

Everyone needs acceptance and affirmation. But to receive that, you must give it.

But what is that, other than two sides of the same coin. Can you affirm a person without accepting them? Can you accept a person and not affirm them? Acceptance happens when: [Read more…] about 4 Important Things You Must Do Everyday

7 Reasons Wattbikes Beat Trainers

August 11, 2016 by EnnisP Leave a Comment

Transfer saddle stem measurement from your road bike to the Wattbike.

Set Up Is Easy
Training Is Sophisticated

To be clear, there are basically two options for indoor cycle training: stationary bikes or trainers.

CycleOps indoor bike trainer.A Trainer is an apparatus – like the one pictured here – that allows you to train indoors using your outdoor bike whether it’s road or mountain.

The Trainer pictured here is CycleOps, which is one of the better brands, but there are many brands and styles to choose from.

A Stationary Bike is stand alone. It doesn’t attach to your bike and needs no other equipment.

The variety of stationary bikes is also endless: spinning, upright, recumbent, moving handles and more.

Some bikes come with computers and some don’t.

Some are designed to mimic the feel of outdoor cycling and some not. That’s important because if you’re interested in augmenting your road training, you want a bike that produces the same feel.

One warning, though. If cross training is your aim, then stay clear of strangely designed bikes. There are better ways to cross train.

The Wattbike pictured above is considered the cream of the crop. It’s used by pros and amateurs alike. They are standard equipment in gyms these days but can be purchased for home use as well.

Trainers vs Stationary Bikes

I only discovered this recently, but there seems to be debate over which is better: trainers or stationary bikes. [Read more…] about 7 Reasons Wattbikes Beat Trainers

Tim Pepper Music – Soulful Tuesday – Sunshine

August 9, 2016 by EnnisP Leave a Comment

Tim Pepper and his coffee bud.

Sunshine

If it’s true that novelists write themselves, then it seems logical to think singer/songwriters sing themselves. And if that’s the case, then what does Sunshine say about Tim Pepper.

Tim is known for being thoughtful, which can be interpreted in many different ways. Some positive. Some not so positive, but that may be an accurate descriptor. Sunshine reflects both sides of the coin.

In Sunshine, Tim thinks and feels. He reflects and fumes. There’s nothing static. He isn’t eternally pessimistic or optomistic.

But I wouldn’t dismiss the song as just another boring dose of realism. It isn’t flat. It’s a little up and a little down, and it ends on an upbeat note. It moves honestly.

The song isn’t long, but it’s lots of fun and the tune is really catchy too. Enjoy!

Book Tim Pepper for house shows and more.

5 Steps To Remove Wattbike Pedal Cages

August 8, 2016 by EnnisP 8 Comments

Remove Wattbike pedal cages.

Only Two Steps
To Reinstall Cages

The newer Wattbikes are fitted with multi-pedals making it possible to use three different pedal styles: road clips, SPD’s and cages. Whatever shoes you have will work.

The best part about that is you can use the same shoes on the Wattbike as you use on your outdoor bike. You don’t need to spend money buying or setting up a second pair of shoes.

Wattbike multi-pedals.

The drawback is, if you’re shoes have road style clips, the cages must be removed first. They use the same receptor.

That doesn’t sound like a big deal until you try to remove the cages for the first time. I eventually figured it out but not without making a idiot of myself and getting a little banged up.

This Week In Divorce – Illegal In The Philippines

This Week In Divorce

From Wedding Costs
To Filipino Divorce

David Baker, a former daily newspaper journalist now working as an Anglican minister in Sussex, England, and writing for Christian Today – not to be confused with Christianity Today – bemoaned the amount of money spent on weddings.

He argues – almost intones – that Jesus never mentioned “at any stage” the many things we associate with modern weddings.

I’m sure you know the list:

White dresses, ushers, best men, confetti, bridesmaids, rings, hats, vintage cars, printed orders of service, bouquets, banns, registers, receptions, honeymoons, discos, speeches and very tall men who seem to stand at the back of every wedding service I take and eyeball me while refusing to sing.

Jesus also never mentioned toilet paper, and most of the people I know haven’t read too much into that. Thankfully! [Read more…] about This Week In Divorce – Illegal In The Philippines
